Home-Cooked Meals for My Bostons
Feeding my Boston Terriers a nutritious and balanced diet is a top priority in our home. I prepare a mix of wholesome ingredients to ensure they get the nutrients they need. Their meals often include hamburger, sweet potatoes, cream cheese, peanut butter, eggs (including the shells), rice, chicken broth, and vitamin supplements for added health benefits. This mixture is combined with their dry kibble (Purina Pro Plan lamb & Rice , Iams, & Bil Jac combined) to give them a flavorful and satisfying meal. For my nursing moms, I add goat’s milk to the mix, providing them with the extra nourishment they require during this important time.
Additionally, we incorporate chicken meals, chicken gizzards, and cooked carrots into their diet for variety and added nutrition. These home-cooked options give my Bostons the best of both worlds—taste and health—all crafted with love and care.
Puppy Socialization: Building a Confident & Happy Companion
Socializing our puppies is one of the most important steps in raising a well-behaved and confident dog. Puppy socialization involves exposing our pups to our family membersand grandchildren, other bostons, sights, and sounds in a positive and controlled way. The goal is to help the puppies feel comfortable and adapt to different situations, preventing fear, anxiety, or aggression as they grow older. Ideally, the critical socialization period occurs between 3 and 14 weeks of age, but in our case we only have them till they are 8 weeks of age however it’s never too late for their new family to continue introducing new things gradually, use plenty of praise and treats, and always ensure your puppy feels safe and supported. By prioritizing socialization early on, you’ll set your pup up for a lifetime of happy and stress-free interactions with the world around them.
